Umgubo regimental songs from the Swazi people of Swaziland This group of regimental songs, called umgubo, are traditionally sung by the military regiments of local kings. They typically have a slow pace and often are in a free rhythm with several overlapping layers of unison and harmony singing. Some of the singing acts as a background for chanting. Hugh Tracey recorded these songs in 1958.
