Imiziyabola kaNgwane (Kraals are being destroyed)
The singers of this umgubo regimental song, a large group of Swazi men from Entonjeni, Pigg’s Peak, Swaziland, utilize a specialized vocal quaver. The rhythm is free and the unison and harmony parts are overlapping. The words refer to a war when a faction fight broke out and the kraals (villages surrounded by stockades) of the soldiers who went up north were burned while they were away.
