Wena wamakhosi ezizwe (You lord of the peoples)
This umgubo regimental song dates from the time when the Swazi were all united under one chief. It is sung by a group of men and girls from the Queen Mother’s village in the area of Lobamba, Mbabane, Swaziland. The song is sung in a free rhythm and many of the singers use a special quaver in their voices for this song, which they sing combining unison and harmony parts.
