This set of five songs from the repertory of professional female sozanda groups is a compact version of a medley that can extend to one or two hours. The song-sets are structured with slow and fast tempos, combining various rhythms. Members of the Bukharan ensemble Nozanin and sozanda performer Tofakhon sing and play the frame drum in a call-and-response form typical of sozanda music.
