Christmas in Poland

With a mood of celebration and reverence, the chorus and orchestra of the Slask Ballet, accompanied by Feliks Raczkowski, perform at the Gothic Cathedral at Oliwa, home to an 18th-century 6,000-pipe organ. The selections on this album, while sharing the common thread of the Christmas story, are sung from the point of view of the shepherds, angels, and the three kings traveling to Bethlehem to see the baby Jesus. The acoustics of the cathedral provide a pleasing backdrop for the choral performance.
