Smithsonian Folkways Trivia!
Each month we'll ask a trivia question; email your answer, name, and address with the subject "December Trivia" to SmithsonianFolkways@si.edu by December 31st and a randomly selected entrant with the correct answer will win a free CD of his or her choice!
December Question: The music from the M.O.R.E. collection from New Mexico often features the vihuela accompanying the violin. How many strings does a typical Mexican vihuela (as opposed to a Spanish vihuela) have?
Answer to last month's question: "Orphan Child"
November's question was: What song, featured on the Smithsonian Folkways album Beyond Beautiful: Christian Songs in Native Languages, is the National Song of Comfort for the Cherokee Nation? (Hint: watch a performance of the song on the Smithsonian Folkways video page.)
