Born in Denmark, South Carolina, Julius Daniels (1903-1947) spent the years from 1912-1930 in Pineville, South Carolina. He was one of the first of the Southeastern bluesmen to record (Bastin, pg. 196). In later years, he was most commonly associated with Charlotte, North Carolina. After his recording career ended, Daniels worked a number of jobs, including his last as a fireman.
