Kentuckian Chubby Parker was one of the members of the influential radio program "The National Barn Dance," broadcast over station WLS. (Sponsored by the Sears department store, WLS stood for "world's largest store.") Parker joined the radio program in 1925, a year after it started. Parker played the five-string banjo and sang folk songs on the program "The Barn Dance." His song "Nickety Nackety Now Now Now" was his most popular song on the program and today is the song most associated with him (JEMF Quarterly VII, pg. 3. Autumn 1971). This song is better known by as "Froggie Went A-Courtin'" and is also well known as a children's song.
