Singer-songwriter Johnny Richardson performs mostly original songs for young children on this 1977 recording. Song topics range from animals and food to sailing ships and trains. Among the cover songs is “The Choo Choo Train,” co-written by Hal David, the longtime songwriting partner of Burt Bacharach. Richardson includes the traditional minstrel classic “Blue Tail Fly,” also known as “Jimmy Crack Corn.” Nearly 30 songs are included on this recording; all of them are under three minutes long.
