Woody Guthrie’s
“Riding in My Car”

Riding in My Car, a new pop-up book based on Woody Guthrie’s children’s song, invites readers on a rollicking road trip across America. Illustrated by Scott Menchin.

Woody Guthrie is most famous for writing “This Land is Your Land” and other moving songs that document the events and struggles he witnessed during his lifetime. Yet he was also a wonderful writer and performer of songs for children, filled with whimsy and enthusiasm. "Riding in My Car," was written and recorded by Woody Guthrie and originally released by Folkways Records in 1951.
