Muzemu
The muzema is an entertainment dance popular among young Valley Tonga men and women in the Zambezi Valley, near Victoria Falls. Three conical drums (milupa), called sikumwa, kajakiri, and omutuwa, plus a friction drum (namalwa), double basket rattles (mulai), and a xylophone (silimba) provide the music. For presentations, performers at the Rhodes Livingstone Museum, in what at the time of the recording was Northern Rhodesia, made the adaptation heard here.
