This track is an example of a heroic ballad, panwara, which was one of the ways in which local historical events were preserved in memory. This panwara is about Shish Ram Saklani, a farmer who volunteered to fight the Gorkha army in the early 19th century. After fighting valiantly, Saklani was made a general and given a large amount of land, jagir by the Maharaja of Tehri.
