In the Beginning: Bible Stories for Children by Sholem Asch

African American author and poet Arna Bontemps (1902–1973) reads Bible stories for children written by Sholem Asch (1880–1957), Polish-Jewish immigrant and father of Folkways Records founder Moses Asch. This recording focuses on the Book of Genesis, with stories of Adam and his desire to find a mate, Noah and the Ark, and the Tower of Babel. The recording closes with the story of Abraham and his search for God. Transcripts for all tracks are included in the liner notes. This recording is the companion to Joseph and His Brothers: From In the Beginning by Sholem Asch (FW07106).
